Today, people live longer and better in the history of humankind than ever. Our goal should be staying one of them. Everything comes from the position to have sustainable health. Our main goal should be living longer and fulfilled life.
“Good health is one of the ingredients of happiness.”
The average life expectancy of men is 76.8 years and 79.8 in women, or let’s circle it its 80. The number rise positively every year.
This means that 50% of the population will pass away before turning 80, and 50% after 80.
Long Life
In the industrial world today, most of the consequences of early death are removed. The tuberculosis, infantile paralysis, malaria, cholera, typhus, and other sicknesses are removed thanks to the improved hygienic conditions and to the modern medicine.
Today most death causing threats are heart conditions, all types of cancer, diabetes, and traffic accidents (car, bus, truck). You cannot predict the unpredictable, like the accidents, or to protect from them, but along with the discipline, we can control the things that are liable to manage.
I will divide the 12 Health Longevity Remedies in two sections. The first are 7 Main Healthy Habits.
In the study “Alameda”, in which has been studied the behavior of thousand people during more than 20 years, it’s been concluded that there are seven healthy habits that most contribute to long life.
1. Eat regular
Instead of fasting, starving, or over eat – eat regular. Eat normal, healthy meals. It’s best to eat 5-6 times a day and the last serving should be eaten 3 hours minimum before you go to sleep.
2. Eat Less
When you over eat, you feel stiff and tired, and when you eat light meals you feel healthy and great. Am I right? But the habit of full stomach is infectious.
3. Don’t eat between meals
When you eat, your body needs time to decompose and digest the meal in the stomach to make sure the food can pass through the small intestine. For this process, the body needs 4-5 hours.
If we eat after eating, the process of digesting needs to start all over, with already one phase of digesting. This causes stomach problems, acids, sleepiness (especially afternoon) and constipation.
4. Workout often
It would be ideally to workout 30 minutes a day or two hundred minutes per week. You can walk, you can run, you can swim or use exercise machines. Every day you need to move every wrist, joint, and ankle.
5. Fasten your seatbelt
I would only state one fact “First 35 years of your life, the most common consequence of early deaths are traffic accidents.”
6. Don’t smoke
Smoking is connected with 32 different sicknesses, including lung cancer, liver cancer, throat cancer, gastric cancer, heart diseases and whole list of another death causing sicknesses. Nowadays it’s even written on the pack!
7. Drink responsibly
Studies show that drinking one or two glasses of wine a day can help during digesting and probably deal positively on your health.
Every other greater consumption can lead to numerous problems, including the excessive injection of food, car accidents, personal problems and unacceptable behavior. It might be legal, but it’s still a drug.
Five appropriate things for tremendous health
Brian Tracy says that on his seminars of personal growth he instruct people about “five proper things” essential for tremendous health.
1. Proper weight
We need self-discipline and strong motive to sustain our regular weight all of our lives, but the reimbursement of it is amazing. You look good, feel good, you are more satisfied and you have more evident feel like you are stirring the wheel of your life.
2. Proper food
As Benjamin Franklin said “Eat to live, don’t live to eat.”
According to one study on Olympic athletes in more than 120 counties, in their nutrition they have 3 common factors:
Proteins without fats
Various fruits and vegetables
Lot of water, around 8 glasses a day
When we start to eat like athletes, our way of life will change. We will become more aware and we will be more capable.
3. Proper workout
For long life the most important thing is aerobic workout. Three times a week we need to bring our pulse on higher level and sustain it for around 30 up to 60 minutes. We can achieve this by fast walking, running, riding bicycle or swimming.
Philosophers that are concerned with this area claimed that the “effect of working out” recalls after 25 minutes of intense workout. The brain signals and releases the endorphins, which I have mentioned various times in my writings that they are the ‘feel-good’ chemicals. They give feeling of admiration and gratitude of oneself. In very positive way you can be addicted to this natural drug.
People that get used to the habit of regular exercise and intensive workout, find “this stunt” easier to do every day. They become addicted to the feeling of “endorphin rush” during and after workout.
4. Proper rest
This is important!
More than 60% of the adults sleep less than needed. They suffer from so called “Deficiency of sleep.” They go to bed late, sleep bad, they wake up too early, and during the day they live through “the fog.”
This appearance of poor rest results in bad performance at work, numerous mistakes, accident at work, traffic accidents, anxiety and laziness.
If you live and work normally, you need 8 hours of sleep every night. If you sleep 6 or 7 hours, when you need 8, you start to burden the deficiency of sleep.
On Thursday and Friday, when you wake up in the morning, the first thing going through your mind is the sleep you are going to enjoy after work (pretty good sign of sleep deficiency).
Besides the 8 hours of sleep every day, you need regular rests from work, weekends and summer/winter holidays. When we rest from work, we recharge our emotional and physical batteries.
After going to work from 2-3 days of proper rest, we feel fully recharged to give everything we got.
5. Proper attitude
This maybe the most important (I don’t know how many times I already said this). If you characterize with optimism, it’s more than obvious that you will be healthier And happier, featuring long life.
Bright and optimistic people have stronger immunity system and that’s why they are almost never sick. They rarely get flu, they recover rapidly after giving full effort, and recover A.S.A.P. after fatigue.
Optimistic people have “concrete shield” against lot of diseases and illnesses concerning the healthy issues that usually hit the “regular persons.”
