“Reticular Cortex” – 5 Things They Don’t Want You To Know About The Hidden Part Of Your Brain

“You become what you think.” This is one of the most precise sentences to reveal oneself. Occupying one’s thoughts with the main goal or purpose will guide them directly to revelation. Let’s see how that is connected scientifically.

When we believe in the law of attraction, we activate the magnet to pull us through life in the bulls-eye. We start to attract possibilities, people, ideas and financial resources to make our dream feasible. It is strange how many people choose to see things negatively, not scratching an eye to see that life itself is a miracle!

Your inner world reflects your outer world. What’s in the head will portray in real life.

So what’s the Reticular Cortex? Reticular cortex is the “portable device” that transfer the things up there in real life, down here.

Here are the 5 ways to take charge of your Reticular Cortex:

1. Understand how the reticular cortex works

In your “little rascal up there” you have something called the Reticular Cortex. It’s a little pen-like section of the brain that deletes most of what you hear, see and feel.

In this very moment there are thousand things to focus on, but if you decide to focus on them all at once, you would go completely insane.

Only imagine: on how many things you are not paying attention to right now? You are definitely not paying attention to your hand on the touch pad, or how your socks feel glued on your feet. Where you paying any attention to the car engines outside?

As you adjust your focus from one thing to another, you delete shifts as well. The Reticular Cortex determines what to delete, but you have to decide what you don’t want to delete.

If a thing points out to be your goal, like some obsession in your mind, the reticular cortex will employ your world with that.

2. Narrow your focus to cut off deleting crucial information’s

Average person has approximately up to 60.000 thoughts per day! But the stunning fact is that 95% of those thoughts are the same from the previous day which leaves us only with 5% new and creative thoughts.

Your focus at this moment, even when you read this particular sentence, wanders to (example: to memories with your girlfriend, to your next summer vacation, to the upcoming project at work, to blue giraffes, and so on.) We are occupied with so trivial things that when we start to REALLY see what we think, we truly question our sanity.

If we focus on how we’d really like to live in the future, and how we truly have ability to make it fictive, our brain is going to demonstrate more ways to get that feasible in a span of time.

If we focus on how amazing it feels to get better in no time, our brain is going to do everything it can to conceive more experiences like that. As we shift our focus on a particular thing… it becomes.

Speak and think in a way you want to become, and you will create it. It’s not really a matter of what you want or don’t want. It’s a matter of what we occupy the mind with.

For example if I want 100.000 dollars, I will have to obsess myself with ways to get that money in a span of time. And believe me, if you take the first step of imagining, it becomes really scary how close we are to our dreams if we ONLY begin to imagine them as we already have them and positively obsess with them.

The Reticular Cortex reacts to the content of your mind.

3. My personal theory of “Skoda drivers wear glasses.”

I remember when back in the days I thought ALL Skoda drivers wear glasses. Back then, a friend of mine asked me a funny question: did you know that EVERY Skoda driver wears glasses?

Although it was a joke when he told me that, every god damn Skoda car and every driver in it was wearing glasses! I couldn’t figure out how’s that possible until I read about the Reticular Cortex. This really unusual question proved me that the reticular cortex is a “transferring station” of thoughts to reality. It’s our hidden sixth sense!

If you decide to see Skoda drivers with glasses, you’ll suddenly see Skoda drivers with glasses everywhere. If you decide to buy an apartment, you’ll suddenly look million ways to buy an apartment (let’s hope a loan is not the only choice). You’ll start to notice “apartments for sale” everywhere and you’ll see a lot of other details that you didn’t notice before.

Bottom line: The world you perceive changes depending on where you narrow your focus. Where the hell am I going with this? If you negatively focus on how hard it is to get better, your Reticular Cortex is going to delete any signs that it might get easier. If you focus on how you can’t find enough time to work out, your Reticular Cortex is going to delete hints and opportunities that could help you find more time to work out, or ideas that could help you get tremendously more out of the span of time you have at the moment.

Off the record, my advice would be to feed your brain with your vision. Otherwise every Skoda driver would eventually wear glasses!

4. Step 4: Take overall control

And again, if you don’t want to obsess with baloney things that will never have any positive outcome in your life, you must take overall control of your thoughts.

You must become very conscious about how you speak to yourself and what type of ‘images’ you paint in your head. Any negative thought will paint into some form of resistance later on. Everything matters.

So the first step is to take control of how you talk and think. Imagine the habit of fast typewriting. There is no time to be analytical and “negative” about fast typewriting. You just do it in the moment.

If you constantly question and analyze what you are doing, you’ll drive yourself crazy.

Shift your self-talk to be overall self-control. There will be times of confusion and misbalance, but that’s part of the equation. In time we’ll become experts of our thoughts.

5. Last step: The simple effective process

Visualize and constitute vast and tiny goals all the time. A goal is something you would like to execute with a deadline. If there’s no deadline, it’s not a goal… it’s only a wish.

Question yourself the following:

1. What would I like to have accomplished a year from now?

2. What am I going to spend the next thirty days focusing on?

3. What is my primary focus this week?

4. Exactly what will I focus on in today’s practice sessions?

If you are approaching the questions seriously, go buy a note book and write the answers ASAP. Then revisit your note-book often and write down new goals for the upcoming weeks, months or years.

Create a goal setting journal. This will also give you a chance to turn back and see how far you have come. Very often we forget to cherish how much we have achieved in the past. If we don’t appreciate it, we master the brain that whatever we’re working on now also won’t be that exciting when we get it!

So it would be smart to go buy a notebook (which I bet you don’t already have.)

It is highly important to remove the negative thoughts from the brain.

“What you think, you become.”
