It’s pity, isn’t it?
Everyone is a genius when narrating how life should be lived. I even feel like one right now!
That’s not the point. The point is to tackle and push ourselves to follow a pattern of daily habits. If you take a quick review of any greater achievement in the world, it took ‘a person’, or ‘a group’ of people excessive amount of time and pattern of daily stubbornness. Well, after all we honestly need to be stubborn for greater good. The brain is going to consider otherwise on every obstacle.
“Your brain is not designed to make you happy. That’s your job.” – Anthony Robbins
The next 25 life secrets and alerts will give you a clear image that everywhere you turn there is something to benefit from, mostly located inside your head (if you know what I mean.)
1. Memorize something everyday.
First, it will make your brain sharp and your memory functioning. Second you will collect huge library of quotes to bust out at any moment. Poetry, sayings and philosophies are your best options.
2. Constantly try to reduce your attachment to possessions.
People with excessive material desires will have a lot of trouble when their things are taken away from them or lost. Possessions do end up owning you, not the other way around, and as life proceeds, “things” are always given and taken. There is nothing 100% sure when you depend on material. Become a person of minimal needs and you will be much more content.
3. Develop an endless curiosity about this world.
Become an explorer! Albert Einstein was 22 years old when he sat out alone on foot across the Alps. In his youthful passage through the mountains he longed to grasp the hidden design, the underline principles of nature.
Stop and observe all of the little things as completely unique events. Try new things. Get out of your comfort zone and try to experience as many successful and unsuccessful things in your life. This world has so much to offer, so why not take advantage of it? Scared of failure? THAT IS THE MAIN PART OF SUCCESS!
4. Remember people’s names.
I will be honest on this one. I had vast problem when I needed to “name” someone I already know. It just blocked my mind. But when I figured out how good and important is to be named in a conversation, my memory improved instantly.
People feel appreciated! And for your own future benefit, when you want something from a particular person, say their name back to them when they introduce themselves. Then repeat the name in your head a number of times until you are sure you have it. Continue to use their name in conversation as much as possible to remove any chance of forgetting it. It personally helped me. And if you know me and my connection with names, you will be surprised!
5. Get in Shape!
It’s even ridiculous to think that we have one body, one goddess temple of functioning, and we are too lazy to take care of it. Fit bodies lead to better health, confidence and more success with romantic endeavors. I would say those are 3 great reasons to get in shape, not to mention one hundred more…
6. Focus only on the present.
The past is unchangeable so it is fruitless to reflect on it unless you are making sure you do not repeat past mistakes. The future is the result of your actions today. The bottom line would be to learn from the past to do better in the present so that you can succeed in the future. Nothing more, nothing less.
7. Part 2. Live in THIS MOMENT!
We have 60 000 thoughts per day and 95% are the same from the previous day. Holy cow! Average day, on an average person, through his head emerge for approximately 60 000 thoughts per day! But the stunning fact is that 95% of those thoughts are the same from the previous day which leaves us with only 5% new and creative thoughts.
Imagine the power if we were able to fully occupy ourselves with the present. That would be 20x more things done in the present (according to my poor math.) However, It is encouraging to even know that being here and now 1% more can change our lives.
8. Smile often.
Whenever you get a grin on your face, your brain is releasing serotonin, the “feel-good” happy hormone. Smiling is the natural way to force yourself to be happy. Many people even smile for couple of minutes in the morning to get themselves in a great mood for the day by looking themselves in the mirror. It is a very powerful tool that is utilized less and less as we grow older and need happiness more than ever. Just remember that while happiness leads to smiles, smiles also lead to happiness.
9. Drink plenty of water.
Hydration is tremendously important for overall health. Soda has absolutely ZERO nutritional content; it’s literally the same as pouring a punch of sugar and syrup into your cup. Instead, fill it with natural water. It may taste plain, but you’ll soon find yourself addicted to it. 10 glasses per day is optimal, depending on your “sweating program.”
10. Don’t be serious. It’s a trap!
Learn to laugh at the little things. Being serious about everything is even stressful! The world for you is going to be be a whole lot easier. Be amused by your mistakes and failures and be thankful that you learned your lesson. And off the record, do things that you enjoy! Life is not strictly business, it can be mixed with pleasure. (This nurse reveals the top 5 things people regret on their deathbed).
11. Think positive.
When you find yourself thinking negatively, stop it ASAP.. Do whatever it takes to get back to a positive mindset as such is essential for continual happiness and success. It’s not easy, but it’s 100% proven that being positive about things will take you any place you want.
12. Read more!
Knowledge is power. Intelligence is always sexy! I personally adore self-improvement books, but that varies from person to person. Any book will improve your imagination and visualization, so as you personal dictionary.
13. Help others.
Altruism gives us happiness! There are thousands of things to do to help people by using very few of our time. Sometimes couple of seconds.
-You grow by giving and helping others. It can change you in ways you never expected
-Your relationship with that person will become stronger
-It’s the most fulfilling thing you can do on this planet. It not only feels amazing physically, you also feel like a worthy person
-You know that’s the real thing to when you do it
-Karma (if you believe in it)
14. Be honest at all times.
Lies lead to nothing but trouble. Being known as trustworthy is an excellent trait of having integrity. In business and friendship there is nothing more powerful than the ability trust each other.
15. Figure out what your goals and dreams are.
Many people wander without direction through life. Take a breath, even lay in your bed for hours or days and think firmly on this subject. Decide what your perfect life consists of and begin to put the steps in motion to reach that place. The most satisfying thing in the world is overcoming a challenge and reaching a goal. We are the happiest when we are growing and working towards something better.
16. Optimize your day off right.
Wake up and set aside an hour for personal development activities such as meditation, self-introspection, or observing nature. Do the things that make you feel optimistic and empowered so that you can set a positive tone for your day. The day off is to recharge your batteries with things that personally fulfill yourself and your soul. It’s the most crucial day in the week if you want to get better results.
17. Travel more often.
Anyone who has ever gone anywhere will tell you that traveling is one of the most soul-fulfilling thing you can do. Observing a different culture will broaden your views while making you appreciate the life you already live. This goes back to no.3: this world is your big house! Who knows, maybe you’ll find a place you love so much that you decide to move. You never know until you try.
18. Do not be affected by the words of others.
Most people get very upset when they are called negative names by others, or by being misjudged . I’m so in for standing up against yourselves, but not in a situation where you have to explain yourself to anyone but you. People are foolish for saying such things, so why would you react with such anger? The only exception is when someone calls you something that is true! In this case, you should thank them for alerting you to a weakness, one that you can now work on changing.
19. Develop the ability to forgive.
Forgiveness is so simple that most people fail miserably. Grudges only bring more misery to those who hold them (in this case you) and prevent good relations with the target. WE make mistakes all of the time so why not have mercy when other do? Remaining angry feels horrible while forgiving someone brings a refreshing sensation to the mind and healing to the relationship. Forgive, but never forget.
20. Make others feel special.
Being kind and giving a couple of compliments is something sacred these days, even though it’s couple of milliseconds away from your tongue. It’s also a habit we have to insert in our daily routine. Believe me, it’s the key to unlock every heart that will lead to participant’s happiness and your fulfillment. Win-win situation!
21. Visualize more.
It has been said and proven time and time again that what you focus on is what you get. If you don’t believe me, I have to convince you with the power of the reticular cortex.
Complain about things all of the time and you will run into more of the things you complain about. The same goes for good things like health, wealth and happiness. Infect your brain with the things you want to have, not with the things you don’t. The brain is the most complete technology ever has and will exist. Use it wisely!
22. Meditate everyday for at least 10 minutes.
In this modern world where everyone is so connected to everything else via cell phones, TV and internet, most people rarely enjoy the beauty of silence. The ability to quiet your mind and relax your body will diminish the useless thoughts you have through the day. Simply sit somewhere, preferably in nature, and focus on your breathing or try to think about nothing. This is going to be extremely hard at first (believe me when I say it’s hard!) You might find it boring or just plain impossible to think of nothing, but you will get better and you will learn to love it.
23. Learn to control your mind.
Warren Buffett said: If you’re not able to control your emotions, you won’t be able to control your money too! And you know, money are important these days …
However, the human mind is described as being a stream of consciousness. That does not mean you can’t decide where your stream flows. Techniques like meditation and the 3 unusual ways to remove your daily frowns will aid you immensely in learning to control your mind.
24. Work on making good first impressions.
Practice a firm handshake and the small talk that usually goes along with meeting someone for the first time. People won’t know what to think of you if you have nothing more to say after “My name is “bla bla” nice to meet you.” Make sure to remember the name, as we mentioned previously. Who knows, you may be going into business with or marrying this person you’re meeting for the first time if you make a good impression.
25. Learn to dominate people without saying a word!
1. “If a person is interested in you, look at their feet. Most people know to keep their facial expressions in check, but they don’t pay attention to what their feet are doing. So if somebody’s feet are pointed directly towards you, this is a sign of genuine interest; Pointing at the door not so much.”
2. 1. “If you want to know if someone is interested, watch their pupils. The pupils are one part of our eye body language we have practically no control over. Eckhard Hess found that the pupil dilates when we are interested in the person we’re talking to, or at least interested in what they’re talking about.”
3. “Want to know about somebody’s political views? Shift your gaze. Glance away, as you’re talking to someone. If a person follows your eyes when you look away, that means they are likely liberal. Conservatives will be much less likely to shift their gaze.”
