To all of those who feel that this message is about spoiled celebrities who are ungrateful for what they have, it is not.
Of course, having your basic needs met and being out of this constant stressful survival mode is key to happiness and well-being.
There is no denying that the massive wealth gap between the rich and the poor is a huge problem arising from a system built on inequality. And if you make it to the end of the video, it does address the issue of all the suffering that result from a culture brainwashed by materialism and overconsumption. (even this 8 years old kid will confirm it!)
This is just to show that in the end, hoarding more stuff isn’t what will ultimately fulfill you.
You can be sitting on a pile of wealth and still live a life void of purpose, connection and joy.
The concept that stuff, status and fame will make you happy is exactly what causes us to not give a sh*t about the planet and each other.
It’s what keeps us in line, chasing what the media says we should be chasing, while the powers that be continue calling the shots at the people’s (and the planet’s) detriment. Is that really a cause for happiness?
So no, this is not just a few celebrities complaining. It’s people like you and me who have seen the other side and are here to tell us that there is much more to life than chasing a perfect image and a fat bank account… and that it’s not until we get this, that we can start asking the REAL important questions about who we truly are, what we truly want and what the world needs!
