Massive Recall: Your Himalayan Salt Lamp May Harm You

Michael’s store has recalled over 80,000 pink Himalayan Salt Lamps due to incidents where the lamps caught fire or shocked. This is a huge decision considering the popularity of these lamps. The brand value along with the various health benefits claimed by the lamps attracted a lot of customers.

These lamps are aesthetically appealing and make your home look pretty and warm. They are designed to cleanse the air in your home.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission required all the Himalayan rock salt lamps to be recalled ASAP. Particularly the three lamps from Lumière that were available at Michaels between July and November 2016. It concerns even the people who ordered theirs from online sources like Amazon.

Lumière Basket of Rocks, Carnival of Lights, and Rock of Gibraltar have dimmer switches that often overheat and catch fire. All the customers are advised to check the barcodes of their lamps, and return the product to US Michael’s stores if they bought a lamp from the recalled series. The store will refund their money.

“Working together with the CPSC, we have recalled the line of Lumière Himalayan Salt Lamps sold between July 2016 and November 2016,” a Michael’s spokesperson stated. “The safety and well-being of our customers is our top priority and we have taken immediate steps to remove this product from our stores, inventories, and supply chain. We apologize to anyone who have been affected by this situation and are providing full refunds..com”

If you have any of these then you should immediately return them. Look for the SKU and UPC numbers on the box.
