Just a few weeks ago we all must have seen the Orionids, another meteor shower lacing up the night sky. Not only are these extremely beautiful natural phenomena, but also, important astrological events.
Right now, more and more people are getting interested in these events, and especially the eccentric we have for our president who on the day of the solar eclipse, stared directly at the sun with no eye protection and thereby became the muse for a thousand memes; and we all know how good memes are for society in general. (Come on, we all need a few good laughs)
For those astrology enthusiasts out there: the Taurids meteor shower will also light up the sky this year, in November. It will be visible in both hemispheres and here are some helpful specifics that might assist you.
The Taurids are slightly more laid back versions of the Orionids and chances are high that they won’t be that bright, and instead of a proper shower there will be short bursts of energy! Hopefully it won’t be too cold depending on where you live and you will be able to view it.
What do the Taurids mean?
As the name suggests, the meteor shower comes out from the constellation Taurus, the bull. This is an Earth sign.
This is especially interesting because we also had a full moon in Taurus November the 4th. And this event brought us spiritual energy even to the staunchest of non-believers.
Taurus is one of the earthiest of signs and Taureans feel a beautiful connection with the elements around them. However they are known for their stubborn ways and the lack of compromise they exhibit in life.
They might be in sync with their surroundings, but they hardly ever adjust with the people around them. There is constant conflict and strife unless there is mutual patience in both the Taurean and the person they are dealing with.
This lack of patience and stubborn and stuck-up way of living oftentimes hurts their romantic partners and families alike and hence becomes subject of regret and concern for Taureans themselves.
If you want to experience some Taurean energy yourself, try lighting some sage at home and introspect on the thoughts you want to rid yourself of.
When do we get to see it?
There are going to be Taurids in both the hemispheres. The Northern half of the world will see a peak of the showers on November the 10th.
The Southern hemisphere Taurid shower, however, peaked in October around the same time, but will still be somewhat visible this month.
Tricky part however is the time: Unlike the Orionids, the Taurids will be best viewed just before daylight, exactly when there isn’t much moonlight to go.
According to Space.com, you need to be prepared to look for the Taurids for a while. Remember, the meteor shower originates from within the Taurus constellation, so familiarize yourself with the constellation upfront, so you’ll be able to spot it more easily when it counts.
There is very little hope however for urban star hunters: city lights destroy the chances. But if you live in an open country, you might just make the cut.
The showers herald times of great spiritual energy for all Earth signs, but especially Taurus individuals. It gives those new insights and a new approach to life in general.
If you are a Taurus, you wouldn’t want to miss this. The effect would be especially potent because of the proximity of the time to the time of the full moon.
Worst comes to worst, you miss it however, do not fret.
This shower is a yearly event and you can always catch it next year, around November.
Same time, same place, quite literally.
