A 75-Year Harvard Study Has Revealed The ONE Most Important Factor In Human Happiness…

What keeps us happy and healthy in life?

I guess the first thing that comes in your mind is money or fame… but according to psychiatrist Robert Waldinger that’s not it, and he has a wisdom as old as the hills proving that.

As one of the directors of 75-year-old study (one of the longest study on adult development that’s ever been done), Waldinger has vast access to data on true happiness and satisfaction. The study was done on 724 men.

In this talk, he shares three most important lessons learned from the study as well as some practical wisdom on how to build a long fulfilling life.

Look at it as human being – the issue of gender will fall out.

Another thing, the issue that keeps us happy is a little more than good relationships. It is at being peace with yourself and your surroundings.

Good relationships fosters that feeling of being at peace with one self.
We can be at peace with ourselves even when we are alone. Loneliness is not being alone. Loneliness is the feeling when you are not at peace with yourself.

He keeps saying people when he should be saying men. Women age very differently from men.

Your point is well put and true. It doesn’t take a 75-year study to know the findings of this Harvard study; in fact, what you just said includes and goes beyond it.

Interesting, and there’s probably some truth to it, but why did they only study men? I wonder if the same would be true for the women who took care of these men. Perhaps the findings should be “men are healthier and happier if they have a wife they can count on.”
