SELF-IMPROVEMENT

Man Buried Himself Alive For 3 Days To Prove Something Incredibly Important [VIDEO]

For just about anyone sane, the idea of being buried alive is one of the most horrifying scenarios possible. Truly, it’s not a fate that we would wish on anyone.

Last week, however, a man in Belfast, Northern Ireland was buried alive for three whole days… because he wanted to be! Far from a nightmare, John Edwards’ plan was actually entirely his own. Literally, he asked for it.

Although, the reason why John went through with this wild idea is incredibly touching.

Just last week, a Belfast, Northern Ireland man named John Edwards decided to have his friends bury him in a coffin—alive—for three whole days. The big question was: why?

It all goes back to Walking Free, an organization dedicated to helping addicts who feel suicidal. For the last 25 years, John had been clean and sober.

He decided he wanted to help others like him, so he started the charity. With that in mind, he devised this wild stunt to raise awareness for the cause.

Not only was he to be buried alive for three days, but he was going to livestream the whole thing online. People were going to get the chance to see what it was like below ground if they dared to take a look.

“My plan is to speak to them from the grave before they get there and show them hope,” John told Belfast Live.

John was also hoping that he would receive calls from people all around the world who were struggling with addiction and suicidal thoughts. He believed that his first-hand experience would help get them through their tough times.

John also hoped that people calling in would allow for him to share their stories with others, which in turn, would help other people who felt isolated and without a voice.

What an amazing (and slightly frightening) idea! Way to go, John! That is just such a creative way of bringing attention to an important subject that many people find too taboo to discuss.

You can catch a glimpse of a portion of John’s lifestream in the video here…

Since his time underground, John’s message has continued to spread. All in all, it was quite the success! If you’d like to learn more about Walking Free, do so at their website.
