Anxiety is a very complicated concept. The causes of anxiety and the solutions aren’t that obvious. Not all symptoms line up and produce a finely calculated inference.
Also, it may take years or months to decipher the causes, symptoms and solutions. Sometimes your reactions may not match with the established medical study and lead to further anxiety over this. Anxiety disorders are frustrating and exhausting. They drain your emotional pool and lead you towards physical and mental ailments.
Anxiety can be both the cause and the symptom of a dysfunctional body. Our body comprises of physical and mental aspects, both of which have to be taken good care of.
Often we believe that if we are disease-free physically, everything else is fine. We need to be mentally fit as well. In fact, our mental and emotional health determines our physical health. One may eat a balanced diet and exercise, but if anxiety grips them the value of nutrition and exercise drops down to low levels.
Anxiety drains you thoroughly and leaves you unproductive and tired all the time. If you find any connection with the above mentioned, look out for the following signs of possible chronic anxiety:
1. Fatigue or exhaustion: As stated above, anxiety disorder robs one’s peace of mind and tires them out. Anxiety sucks from your pool of inner resources and leaves you empty and despondent for a long period of time. It affects the sleeping pattern adversely leading to severe tiredness and perpetual exhaustion. Due to lack of rest, one gets further stressed out, counting number of hours they slept… and the cycle continues.
2. Muscle aches and pains: Anxiety has its way through the whole body. It begins from your mental exhaustion and infests the body with stress, lack of rest and pains at certain points. Usually anxiety has the power to manifest into muscle aches and pains causing further exhaustion. As the anxiety disorder grows out to be a chronic issue, the physical body also gets engaged with disorder and falls ill.
3. Inability to concentrate: Stress and anxiety go hand in hand. If you are ever anxious and subsequently stressed, your decision making, focus and motivation goes down the hill. You feel less inspired, and you can hardly concentrate. Usually people with chronic anxiety disorder also develop bipolar disorder, dyslexia, and have a hard time while multitasking. They just cannot take multiple instructions and work on them. Also, adding to that, even a simple task takes up a herculean effort for them.
4. Digestive issues: It is a fact well known to most people that brain and our digestive system are closely linked. If you suffer from anxiety issues, there are strong chances that you will also develop digestion problems. People suffering from chronic anxiety typically suffer from irritable bowel syndrome, know as IBS. In fact, 80 to 90 percent of serotonin, or so called the “feel good chemical” in the brain is created in the gastrointestinal tract, so the link between them becomes obvious.
