A biological research team at Bielefeld University has made a groundbreaking discovery showing that plants can draw an alternative source of energy from other plants. This finding could also have a major impact on the future of bioenergy eventually providing the evidence to show that people draw energy from others in much the same way.

Members of Professor Dr. Olaf Kruse’s biological research team have confirmed for the first time that a plant, the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, not only engages in photosynthesis, but also has an alternative source of energy: it can draw it from other plants. The research findings were released this week in the online journal Nature Communications published by the renowned journal Nature.

Flowers need water and light to grow and people are no different. Our physical bodies are like sponges, soaking up the environment. “This is exactly why there are certain people who feel uncomfortable in specific group settings where there is a mix of energy and emotions,” said psychologist and energy healer Dr. Olivia Bader-Lee.

Plants engage in the photosynthesis of carbon dioxide, water, and light. In a series of experiments, Professor Dr. Olaf Kruse and his team cultivated the microscopically small green alga species Chlamydomonas reinhardtii and observed that when faced with a shortage of energy, these single-cell plants can draw energy from neighbouring vegetable cellulose instead. The alga secretes enzymes (so-called cellulose enzymes) that ‘digest’ the cellulose, breaking it down into smaller sugar components. These are then transported into the cells and transformed into a source of energy: the alga can continue to grow. ‘This is the first time that such a behaviour has been confirmed in a vegetable organism’, says Professor Kruse. ‘That algae can digest cellulose contradicts every previous textbook. To a certain extent, what we are seeing is plants eating plants’. Currently, the scientists are studying whether this mechanism can also be found in other types of alga. Preliminary findings indicate that this is the case.

“When energy studies become more advanced in the coming years, we will eventually see this translated to human beings as well,” stated Bader-Lee. “The human organism is very much like a plant, it draws needed energy to feed emotional states and this can essentially energize cells or cause increases in cortisol and catabolize cells depending on the emotional trigger.”

Bader-Lee suggests that the field of bioenergy is now ever evolving and that studies on the plant and animal world will soon translate and demonstrate what energy metaphysicians have known all along — that humans can heal each other simply through energy transfer just as plants do. “Human can absorb and heal through other humans, animals, and any part of nature. That’s why being around nature is often uplifting and energizing for so many people,” she concluded.

Here are five energy tools to use to clear your space and prevent energy drains while releasing people’s energy:

Stay centered and grounded. If you are centered within your spiritual self (instead of your analyzer or ego) you will sense right away when something has moved into your space. If you are fully grounded, you can easily release other people’s energy and emotions down your grounding cord with your intention.

Be in a state of non-resistance. What we resists sticks. If you feel uncomfortable around a certain person or in a group, don’t go into resistance as a way to protect yourself as this will only keep foreign energy stuck in your space. Move into a state of non-resistance by imagining that your body is clear and translucent like clear glass or water. This way, if someone throws some invalidation at you, it will pass right through you.

Own your personal aura space. We each have an energetic aura surrounding our body. If we don’t own this personal space we are vulnerable to foreign energy entering it. Become aware of your aura boundaries (about an arms length away from your body all the way around, above and below) as a way to own your personal space.

Give yourself an energy cleanse. The color gold has a high vibration which is useful for clearing away foreign energy. Imagine a gold shower nozzle at the top of your aura (a few feet above your head) and turn it on, allowing clear gold energy to flow through your aura and body space and release down your grounding. You will immediately feel cleansed and refreshed.

Call back your energy. When we have our energy in our own space there is less room for other’s energy to enter. But as we focus on other people and projects we sometimes spread our energy around. Create an image of a clear gold sun several feet above your head and let it be a magnet, attracting all of your energy back into it (and purifying it in the gold energy). Then bring it down through the top of your aura and into your body space, releasing your energy back into your personal space.

Oh, this was delicious. If one seeks evidence that “[t]he human organism is very much like a plant,” I offer you as Exhibits A and B one “psychologist and energy healer Dr. Olivia Bader-Lee,” and one Michael Forrester.

But I do like the part where Forrester recommends golden showers, which leave you feeling “clean and refreshed” from “allowing clear gold energy to flow through your aura and body space and release down [*sic*] your grounding.” And here all along I had thought that that was just some kinky stuff that people got up to.

Agreed:) If it comes to you having to do stuff to overcome some negative energy… then something is missing:) Either you know it an see it for what it is or you don’t:)

Have not animals always huddled together to share body heat? That’s sharing energy, isn’t it?

Very fascinating. Although what the title states was has not been proven. I believe it exists, but that’s not what was studied.

Dave Brown- Yes, I agree. Title is very misleading. 2nd sentence This finding “COULD” also have a major impact on the “future” of bioenergy eventually providing the evidence to show that people draw energy from others in much the same way.
I do believe humans can transfer energy to one another. It’s only my intuitive feelings I draw from. I do associate w/ alot of people who also feel this way. Like a religion/god, we believe w/o pure scientific proof.
I don’t know how (or why)scientist can prove this metaphysical exchange.

The scientific findings they’ve mentioned reveal that algae is able to digest and consume cellulose from other plants as an alternative source of energy. Cellulose is a main component of plant cells. This “transfer of energy” is basically a plant eating another plant. We humans have been “absorbing energy” from plants and animals since the very beginning.

Many people do not know this, although it occurs all the time. This article is to bring awareness to the ways we can enhance our positive energy. Nothing wrong with that!

This is he same principle of filling yourself with the Holy Spirit from the golden God above energy.Exact same mechanism of tapping into healing powerful energy. Turning the other cheek is a way of neutralizing others’ negative energy. Praying is releasing negative energy and refilling with positive energy as well as sending out positive energy to others and releasing worrisome energy.

I know of human beings who DRAIN energy from others…what color would their “energy field be?–why, BLACK of course. Now–just so I’m not misunderstood–I’m NOT writing about SKIN COLOR here. I’m writing about whether one is an energy GIVER, or a DRAINER.

Using the astronomical concept of “black holes” as a metaphor, not even LIGHT escapes the incredible pull of…well, not gravity in this case, but something like it, in terms of Emotional Intelligence, leadership, organizational movement toward a stated objective, etc. Anybody working and managing/leading in any sector, but especially in the public and nonprofit world will know what I am trying to convey here.

Energy DRAINERS are typically found in [public] bureaucracies, acting as “pseudoleaders” who use their positions to inflict harm on, and injury to, their subordinates, colleagues and even their organizations. They only want to preserve and/or advance their own positions and careers…no matter what harm they do others and even to organizations…even parts of government, and even an entire nation itself!!

In Washington, D.C. Pseudoleader-DRAINERS typically find a fast track to nomination, election, promotion, appointment…and may even end up as Special Prosecutors, General Counsels, Committee Chairs, members of certain Caucuses whose function is to block any legislative movement. Why? They don’t feel constrained by any rules or ethics. They take the short cuts, avoid responsibility but take credit, especially for others’ accomplishments, and betray someone’s trust or destroy another’s career just as soon as they would pop a Cheez-It into their mouths. True to form, they generally stop any bill, because that bill represents positive energy in the legislative process.

In executive branch organizations, Drainers delight in oppressing subordinates, sucking up to their bosses, but have no loyalty. Loyalty, for Drainers, is a weakness. Loyalty is a character flaw that gets in the way of climbing the organizational ladder while stomping on others’ necks, heads and hands just to move higher up the organizational chart. It doesn’t matter to a Drainer how many peoples’ working lives or careers they have harmed along the way. So Drainers deflect, block and absorb any positive energy in executive branch agencies as well.

The same is true in the private sector. There, Drainers just get fired much more easily. Or they advance to VP, Chief [fill in your blank] Officer positions, Board of Directors chairs, or even CEOs and owners. Positive energy in these environments, like Truman’s famous “Buck”, stops with them.

I say “positive energy” not from an ideological point of view, but from a “General Systems Theory” perspective. They EMBODY “Entropy”, and my forefather Isaac Newton observed many of them in Whitehall and in Buckingham Palace…living out, and enforcing, the Second Law of Thermodynamics. Imagine that. Niccolo Machiavelli saw the same Drainer syndrome in Renaissance Italy about 100 years before Newton did…and wrote his famous book about it.

It doesn’t matter what one’s political ideology is in my analysis here; it’s what you DO with/to other people as pattern of behavior that matters. Do you ADD energy, and therefore value, to the governance enterprise, or in the nonprofit world? To a business venture, in the private sector? Or, as a “Drainer”, do you suck the life out of any initiative, any idea, any person’s sense of public duty or enthusiasm in support of a cause that one perceives to advance the public good, or capture a segment of the market that is literally pleading for a product or service?

I know I’m repeating myself, but it’s important: Political ideology is one thing. Being a “Drainer” in your spheres of influence is entirely another, and more important, thing altogether. There are interventions, even psychiatric strategies for improvement. I’m not joking about this!

Left, Right, Centrist, or Don’t Give a Rip…we all have Drainers in our lives, and some reading this comment may in fact be Drainers themselves. Becoming aware of this is THE critical first step, and so on. Just find out whether you are a “Drainer”, and get help so that you can learn to be a GIVER.

We all need more ENERGY PRODUCERS and ENERGY GIVERS if we are to make any progress. No matter who you voted for!

Title seems a little off, considering that the first line of the article states: “Members of Professor Dr. Olaf Kruse’s biological research team have confirmed for the first time that a plant, the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, not only engages in photosynthesis, but also has an alternative source of energy: it can draw it from other plants.”

“The alga secretes enzymes (so-called cellulose enzymes) that ‘digest’ the cellulose, breaking it down into smaller sugar components.”

So, yes. Humans can absorb energy from other humans. If we eat them.
